Rick Stoeckel was born and raised in South Plainfield, New Jersey. Rick does not appreciate jokes about New Jersey.

Rick has had writing published in McSweeney's, Monkey Bicycle, Opium, The Las Vegas Weekly, and various other publications. He writes television spec scripts with his partner, Chris Othic. They currently have two original pilots completed and in circulation.

Rick is at work on two comedic books:

The Making of a Sweet Pickle: My Pickle Life
A true story of my time in The Sweet Pickles, the most dangerous, locoest gang you've probably never heard of.

Lasers in the Jungle
Columbus in the New Land.

Rick is also an award-winning short comedy film maker and the co-creator of a human being named Isaac Stoeckel.
